Yesterday morning, while on a long drive to exchange tomato plants with a friend, I had time to think.

Q. What is the solution to unemployment?

A. Healthcare.

Why? Because if healthcare was less of an issue for older folks, they would retire earlier thus opening up jobs for those trying to enter the job market for the first time.

DUH DUH DUH DUH.

Why is this so difficult to understand? You can't have full employment across the age spectrum anymore in the United States when so much of what we consume isn't even MADE here anymore!!!

The result is we have a huge chunk of the population who have become health insurance whores. And I am one of them along with almost everyone who is my age and on the cusp of retirement. There is no alternative. We will work for health insurance. We will work until we drop for health insurance. We will lose our integrity for health insurance. We will do ANYTHING for health insurance,

There is no alternative.
