Time to reassess.

It's almost the end of another growing season and time to reflect on the successes and failures of this year's garden. I don't know if it's just me or what but how is it possible that I can raise hundreds of tomato plants from seed, have them thrive in other people's gardens and yet have a near total collapse of my own tomato plants--two years in a row!!! Just not lookin' good. I have plenty of tomatoes to enjoy and preserve but I had hopes for harvesting enough to maybe donate to a food pantry or give away to more family members. It is at this time that I have decided that my goal (I am a big goal setter) is changing from growing with the possibility of sharing or selling to others TO growing enough and preserving enough to be able to eliminate a sizable portion of my food bill. Self-sustainability.

There are brief moments when I am planning my garden for next year. There is always another garden to plan.
