Problem solved!

Every spring I find my wash lines laying on the ground. They are shredded because the bark works magic on them all summer and especially in the winter with all the snow and wind. Finally, after months of thinking about this, I came up with this idea and it's really cheap! Plastic hosing from the plumbing section of the hardware store and new, thinner wash lines. Easy to do and it's better for the tree, too.
