It starts.



This is the beginning of reaping the benefits of all the work that a serious gardener puts into their somewhat obsessive hobby. It all started 6 months ago with seeds in trays being kept warm with an electric blanket and endless misting.

The goal is to cease purchasing the majority of my food and to live off of what I grow.

We'll see how it goes.



Nothing special. Just the yellow summer squash, my first zucchini, green beans and peas mixed with onion, garlic and pasta. The sauce is a light tomato sauce that I canned from last year's bounty.

Here is the first batch of this year's green beans cooling in ice water after blanching and before freezing.
